A festive centrepiece that becomes a keepsake. Soy wax is poured into a solid brass urli, three wicks are set in, and dried rose and marigold petals are laid around the edge by hand.

Details

The piece
- Size
- 11.5 cm (4.5 in) brass urli, 3 cm deep, 220 g wax. Net wax 220 g. Made in India
- Made of
- 100% soy wax, three cotton wicks, fragrance oil, dried rose and marigold petals, solid brass urli
- Care
- Lift the petals off the wax before the first burn; burn up to 2 hours at a time; the brass gets hot, so use a mat; polish the urli with lemon and salt.
Care
- Trim the wick to about 5 mm before every burn.
- First burn: let the melted pool reach the edge, about an hour for every 2.5 cm of width, so it never tunnels.
- Burn for up to 4 hours at a time, on a heat-proof surface, away from fans, curtains, children and pets.
- Never leave a burning candle alone; put it out with a snuffer or a gentle breath, never water.
- Stop when about 1 cm of wax is left in a jar.

Every piece is poured, set and finished by hand in our studio, a few at a time. The small marks of the hand are how you know yours is real.
