A candle in a tumbler we cast ourselves. Each concrete vessel is poured, left to cure, sanded smooth and sealed inside before the soy wax goes in, and each one has its own small marks and air holes, like stone.

Details

The piece
- Size
- 7.5 × 7 cm concrete tumbler, 180 g wax. Net wax 180 g. Made in India
- Made of
- 100% soy wax, cotton wick, fragrance oil, sealed hand-cast concrete tumbler
- Care
- Trim the wick to 5 mm; burn up to 4 hours at a time on a mat, as concrete gets warm at the base; stop at 1 cm of wax.
Care
- Trim the wick to about 5 mm before every burn.
- First burn: let the melted pool reach the edge, about an hour for every 2.5 cm of width, so it never tunnels.
- Burn for up to 4 hours at a time, on a heat-proof surface, away from fans, curtains, children and pets.
- Never leave a burning candle alone; put it out with a snuffer or a gentle breath, never water.
- Stop when about 1 cm of wax is left in a jar.

Every piece is poured, set and finished by hand in our studio, a few at a time. The small marks of the hand are how you know yours is real.
