How to look after resin coasters and trays

Resin coasters and trays are made to be used, and with a little care they keep their shine for years. Here is everything we tell customers.

Hot cups

Tea and coffee at drinking temperature are fine on resin every day. A cup taken straight off the flame, or out of the microwave, is hotter than resin likes: let it sit for a minute first. Never use a coaster or tray as a trivet for a pan.

Cleaning

• Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry it.
• A drop of mild dish soap is fine for sticky marks.
• No dishwasher, no soaking, no scouring pads.
• Keep acetone, nail-polish remover and alcohol sprays away: they cloud the gloss.

Sunlight

All resin warms in tone over years in strong sun, clear and white pieces most of all. Keep pieces out of a window that gets the afternoon sun and they stay clear far longer.

Knocks

Resin is strong but not unbreakable. A fall onto a tiled floor can chip an edge, so put coasters back in their stand after use.
